What's Your Body Type?
Just like our eye color and facial appearance, we all come
into the world with a different body types. This is why we all have different
body shapes and why we differ in the amount of body fat or muscle mass we can
gain or lose. But, your body type unlike your body shape is completely
determined by your genetic makeup. So, changing your body type is very hard to
do, if not impossible. The best thing to do is to learn how to flaunt your body
type and to make the most out of it.
Three Body Types
Endomorphs: Endomorphs are big-boned. Men and women with
this body type tend to have round faces, with large thighs and hips. Their
limbs tend to be short and may give them a stocky appearance. Most individuals
with this body type tend to have small hands, feet, and a high waistline.
Compared to the other two body types, endomorphs have a high level of body fat. This means they can build muscle easily but they may have the most difficulty losing weight compared to the other body types.
Mesomorphs: Mesomorphs can be described as an athletic body
type. Individuals with this build, tend to have hourglass or ruler body shapes.
Most mesomorphs can flaunt their narrow waist and broad shoulders. These
individuals also have fast metabolisms, making weight loss easier for them than
for endomorphs.
Ectomorphs: Ectomorphs are small-bone and appear thin in
appearance. Most ectomorphs with their narrow waists, hips, and shoulders have
the ruler or straight body shape. Individuals with this body type can lose
weight easily but have trouble gaining lean muscle mass.
Most people are likely to be a combination of the body
types. Common body type combinations include the include ecto-mesomorph and
endo-mesomorph. Few people fit into one category for body types. Find out how
