spotting while taking ortho tri

I have taken ortho tri-cyclen before and about six months into the pills i start spotting and having skin problems. i stopped taking it for a few months and then started again. once again about five months into taking the pills i have very light spotting and some discharge and my skin is breaking out. is there another pill i could take that would eliminate these problems? any suggestions?
