I had a laporospic/vaginal hysterectomy on Wed. 10.22.08. I kept both ovaries but everything else was taken. I am 30 years old and have been very aroused these past few days. Can I masturbate externally? Using clitoral stimuli with No vaginal insertion? I am embarrassed to talk to my doctor about this. I know the surgery was recent but I am going a little nuts. Please Help.

Hi Waterwoman,

I also had a hysterectomy 13/11/08 i was 29 years old. I had everything removed by laporoscapy i found that i could have sex again after 8 weeks, but i am finding it difficult as i get some pain sometimes as things are not so lubricated as used to be and sometimes this hurts my partner too. As regards your question external clitoral stimulation is fine, i had no problems with this. Hope this helps...

I had the same procedure on 10/27/08. I was cleared to have sex and did so and ripped back open. I had surgery again two weeks ago to repair the damage. My husband wants to do external stimulation and I do feel "in the mood" but am worried the contractions could damage the stitches.
