Washing Your Hair for Picture Perfect Results

Is there a right way of washing our hair? Surprisingly, there is, which may leave some in a bit shock. Since how could we be improperly washing our mane, when we've been washing our hair for a good while?

Well, unfortunately we may have just been adding damage to our hair and hair follicles by washing our hair the way we always did. Read on to find out how we should be washing our hair to achieve picture perfect hair every day.

How Can Washing Create Strong Hair?

First, we should be gentle and realize that despite how strong and thick our hair looks it is in fact, very fragile and easily prone to split ends and conditions like dandruff .

So we can't just pull and tug our hair back with metal clips, or wrangle each strand dry with a towel, because more than likely the strands will break. Regardless of whether you have long hair or short hair, all lengths of hairstyles are prone to breakage.

The Right Way To Wash Hair?

Before stepping into the shower, comb out any tangles to prevent you hair from tangling even more. Thoroughly wet your hair with warm water under the shower to open the cuticles of your hair and to wash off all the oil and dirt.

Squeeze a dollop of shampoo in your palm and rub your palms together before massaging the shampoo onto your scalp. Note not to apply shampoo to the ends of your hair since this will dry out your ends and cause split ends. Also do not mix your hair all over your scalp because this will just tangle your hair.

After rinsing the shampoo off, it's a good practice to repeat the shampoo session. Because the first shampoo gets rid of the styling products in your hair, while the second shampoo session treats your hair. So, repeat the step, and let the shampoo sit for a couple minutes before rinsing.

Following the rinse, apply a dollop of good conditioner to the ends of your hair, hairline and nape. Pile your hair under a shower cap, and let the conditioner work its magic for about ten minutes. Then rinse hair under cool water to retain the shine.

This process may sound time-consuming. But if you want picture perfect hair, every day, it's worth it.
