Continuous bleeding on pill

I have been on birth control for about 8 years now and recently I started having continuous bleeding about a week after my period while regularly taking my birth control. My OBGYN did several paps, STI testing, and an ultrasound and found nothing abnormal. She switched me from Ortho-Tricyclen to Lo Loestrin which only made the problem worse. She then switched me to Zenchent and had me take three pills a day for a week, then two pills a day for a week and finally just the normal dose. This stopped the bleeding but as soon as I started taking the pills as intended my bleeding returned halfway through my second week of pills. My doctor seems to think that this will eventually normalize, but it has been two months now and the issue persists. What should my next step be? My doctor says the only other option would be surgery...

when on ur birth control pills, there are instances that it will cause you abnormal vaginal bleeding.that is called "breakthrough bleeding", when the bleeding occurs at other times during your cycle while you are taking pills.
