Dull, aching fibroid pain, suggestions?

I've been having a dull, aching pain on the left of my abdomen since I gave birth to my son 5 months ago. I had a csection and the doctor said he noticed some fibroids in my uterus. He did not remove any of the fibriods. My left side consistently has a dull, aching pain. It worsens as my period gets closer. I've never been late with my period other than when I was pregnant (I have 2 children). During my last cycle my gynecologist prescribed Provera since I was about 10 days late, and in discomfort. The period came and went but the dull, aching mild pain continues.
My gynecologist suggested I use an IUD to help prevent the tumors from growing. Do you think this is a viable solution? I have not had a scan done on the fibriods to determine their size. I do anticipate I have endometriosis (sp) due to painful bowel movements as well as terrible cramping (to the point of vomiting).
Any help or suggestions you could offer would be so appreciated. Thank you!

It could be ovarian cysts. Functional ones are ok. complex cysts need watching or removal. Have you had an ultrsound?
