My doctor determined that I have PCOS after doing several blood tests. I was put on birth control to help regulate my period, but it has been 10 months and I'm still having problems with the type of birth control that I am on (NuvaRing). Before the birth control, I would get moderate to severe pain primarily on the left side from the end of my period until about the middle of the week before it started again. It significantly lessened with the birth control but this month, I didn't start again and within two days, all of the symptoms are back. It feels like a combination of pressure and pulling and it is constant with "bursts" of severe pain causing me to double over. Ironically, the week of my period is the most "pleasant" of the month. What could be causing this? I'm planning to go back to the doctor and switch types of birth control, but I'm looking for info in the meantime.
