Recurrent BV ruining my life

For the past three or four months, I've experienced major swelling on the left side of my vagina after masturbating. I swell so much that I have to put ice on it for it to go down, which isn't exactly comfortable. I went to the doctor and she diagnosed me with BV. I just finished my second round of Metronidazole. I seem to be doing better right after finishing the medication, but soon after that, the swelling appears again. I don't know what to do anymore. It's really embarrassing and upsetting and I'm worried that it's going to ruin my relationship. Since I don't have any other symptoms, like the terrible odor or discharge, I wonder if it's even BV at all. Could it be something else? I had an abnormal pap and then a colposcopy since then, which said I have LSIL cells(?) on my cervix. I'm not exactly sure what that means, but my doctor told me it was nothing to worry about, as long as I continue to have protected sex with my boyfriend. Could that somehow be causing the swelling? I'm sick of doctors. I don't have insurance, so I have to go to a clinic that I don't particularly like in the first place, because I have no other options. But this condition is extremely upsetting. Any advice? Is there anything I could do other than taking the medication again? Please help.
