prolonged uterine bleeding

I'm 46, had thyroid removed at 28 (cancer), am on Synthroid (.150mcg); have been bleeding now for well over a month--steady bleeding--doc said my thyroid was a little low last time I had it checked about about 2 months ago (just prior to onset of bleeding). While she wanted to increase dosage, I was reluctant because I'd previously been on too high a dose a few years ago (.175mcg). . . Could low dosage cause constant bleeding? I'm otherwise VERY healthy, fit, eat right, exercise regularly. Just called doctor as I'm becoming concerned---any thoughts?

thyroid medicines like synthroid can cause vaginal bleeding, but it also sounds like you have a uterine fibroids I guess. if you think your doctor is misleading you, maybe you need to consult with another doctor for a second opinion.
