I'm 27 yrs old and recently diagnosed c PCOS. I was on birth control for over 5 yrs about a yr after i stopped taking them i stopped having periods. my doctor put me on provera and so far i have been having periods. he diagnosed c PCOS. my problem is i have never had any kinds of tests done (blood work, ultrasound) to confirm diagnoses. I've also been unable to get pregnant. I've heard there are several meds to take to help treat symptoms of PCOS such as excessive hair growth, mood swings etc. Should I see another doctor? How serious is PCOS. I'm really not wanting to get pregnant at this time but im afraid i won't be able to if i wait to long. If anyone has any experience or is taking provera please advise.
